Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed the way educational institutions promote their services. The SD Kartini II Batam Library faces challenges in attracting students' interest in making optimal use of library facilities. Conventional promotional media such as brochures and announcements are less effective in attracting students' attention. Therefore, this research aims to design a motion graphic-based library company profile as a more attractive and interactive promotional media. This research uses the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method which consists of six stages: concept, design, material collection, assembly, testing, and distribution. The result of this research is a motion graphic video with a maximum duration of three minutes that displays information about the library profile, facilities, book collections and superior programs available. Tests using the Black Box Testing method show that this media works as expected and is effective in conveying information. With this motion graphic-based promotional media, it is hoped that students will be more interested in visiting the library, increase their interest in reading, and utilize the available facilities. Apart from that, this media can also be used by schools as a more modern and flexible promotional tool.
